Following continued negotiations with planning and conservation officers, Fuller Long have successfully obtained planning permission for the renovation of the Victor Hugo Playground at the Lycée Francais Charles de Gaulle School within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
In particular, permission was required for a new ramp into one of the buildings and the demolition and rebuilding of the rain shelters which formed part of the overall improvement works which provided a more accessible, safe, pleasant and practical area to teach and play.
Fuller Long Planning Director Juliet Heap successfully demonstrated that the existing covered area within the playground became extremely noisy due to the hard surfaces enclosing it and was in general dark and unpleasant. The new scheme significantly enhances the playground, making it a much more usable and pleasant space.
She said: “Fuller Long are pleased to have helped the Lycée Francais School upgrade the existing play area of the primary school, to improve both its functionality and appearance. The new ramp will provide disabled access to the school conference room, which was previously lacking.”
