Fuller Long has successfully obtained retrospective planning permission and listed building consent for the retention of two sets of top-hung and side-hung rooflight and window combinations in a Grade II listed building in Kensington.
The client had successfully applied for permission for replacement roof lights but the windows installed were larger than those previously permitted, in order to provide safe access to the exterior roof areas for building and maintenance purposes.
Fuller Long Planning Director Juliet Heap and Heritage Consultant Ana Tam successfully argued that without the additional lower section of window it would not be possible to access the roof safely. The Heritage Statement in support of the application demonstrated that the proposals complied with Westminster City Council’s Core Strategy, preserving the special architectural and historic interest of the building.
