Jump_Giants_Foam_Pit-300x200 (1)Fuller Long has assisted our client Jump Giants to win planning approval for new trampoline parks in Thurrock, Heathrow and Loughborough. All of the sites were formerly indoor go-karting tracks, and Fuller Long helped obtain planning permission for a change of use from Sui Generis to D2 (leisure).

Planning Director Juliet Heap successfully argued that given the sites were already occupied by the applicant, were effectively in leisure use already and the new use would likely lead to a reduction in noise levels, there was no valid reason to object to the proposals.

For the site in Thurrock, Fuller Long later submitted an additional application to extend the trampoline park into the neighbouring unit. For this application, the Council’s Highways Officer considered that s106 contributions towards public transport provision and/or walking and cycling improvements should be provided in addition to the Travel Plan. However, following negotiations with the Council by Fuller Long’s specialist Highways Consultant, they agreed that it was not necessary or reasonable to request a contribution to go towards physical off site schemes that would not be relevant to the proposed development.
